The statement was made by municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam at the launching ceremony of the Viet Nam Digital Awards 2021 (VDA 2021) held on Tuesday in the city.
According to Vice Chairman Nam, over the past time, Da Nang has actively implemented e-government and smart city building schemes and programmes.
At the same time, the city has concentrated on proactively and promptly speeding up digital transformation. It is noticeable that many ‘made-in-Da Nang’ products using digital technology and data have been put into use in the city and other nationwide localities.
The municipal administration is scheduled to issue the Da Nang Digital Transformation Project in the rest of this month. In addition to taking actions supporting the landmark National Digital Transformation Programme to 2025, with a vision towards 2030, Da Nang-owned project will feature new supplements in line with its specific development situation.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications, organised by the Viet Nam Digital Communications Association (VDCA), the annual event aims to seek and honor specific solutions and successful digital transformation stories recorded by agencies and businesses nationwide in the light of Viet Nam’s burgeoning digital economy, thus promoting digital products, services and solutions, notably Vietnamese-developed products, to both domestic and foreign markets.
Over the past three years, VDA has honoured 200 outstanding digital initiatives and organisations.
Entries should be submitted to organisers by the end of July, at www.vda.com.vn.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in October, and be broadcast live by Viet Nam Television.
At VDA 2020, Da Nang won five out of the total 40 awards. Notably, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications was named the most excellent agency in the digital transformation category for its Open Data Portal product.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Service Platform (LGST), which has been developed by the city-based Smart Digital Technology Joint Stock Company, a partner of the Department of Information and Communications, was recognised as the most outstanding digital product at last year’s event.
