The 2021 Da Nang Economic Census is running on track, from March 1 to July 25. As scheduled, the preliminary and official survey results will be released in December 2021 and February 2022, respectively.

The ongoing census covers all businesses, state administrative bodies, religious and belief establishments, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) across the city.

The comprehensive economic survey aims to measure the number of Da Nang businesses and their employees, as well as obtain data on their locations, ownership, payrolls, performance, access to loans, and the application of information technology, besides calculating the specialised statistics targets and gross domestic product, as well as updating business data.

The census serves as an effective tool to assess the city’s socio-economic development, thus helping the municipal administration make future development plans and policies.

All survey contents are designed in Web-forms and computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI).

According to the initial review, Da Nang now houses a total number of 28,550 businesses, of which 24,568 are active and temporarily suspended ones, whilst the rest are those shutting down, getting dissolved, going bankrupt, or operating at a loss.
