Creating closer links between producers and consumers

E-commerce is a form of business that is conducted in the online environment. It plays an important role in the development of business in Da Nang, helps them promote their products online and bring their customers closer. Da Nang’s e-commerce trading floor is open to local businesses and allow them to sell their locally-made products more easily to customers across Viet Nam

Tre Ba De making facility located at 81 Hai Phong Street began operations in 1956, and it is now called Tre Ong Chanh. It is considered as the famous food in Da Nang, made with pork.  It has become one of the most popular foods in Da Nang, and Viet Nam at large. This food has risen in popularity in recent times after it was introduced on Da Nang trading floor at danangtrade.gov.vn.

Mr. Nguyen Chanh, owner of this making establishment, said that his products are now available to customers in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang through his agents there. His making establishment has till date received many orders from customers around the country.

Mr Chanh also expressed his belief that Da Nang’s trading floor will help him to bring his customers closer.

Similarly, Phuoc Hoa Dried Noodle Production Facility located in the Mieu Bong Village, Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District, has aready promoted its products, namely dried vermicelli, dried noodle, and dried noodle products, on Da Nang’s e-commerce trading floor.

Mr. Tran Van An, the owner of this family-run facility said “Every day, my family produces about 150 kilogrammes of dried noodles and dried vermicelli to be sold at VND 20,000 per kilogram. After we were awarded a certificate by the city authorites to recognise our products to meet standards of the One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programme, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade supported us to promote our products on the city’s e-commerce trading floor. Internet marketing helps us to attract more customers and boost sales, as well as increase the number of distribution channels across Viet Nam".

Data publised by the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs Association showed that by the end of 2020, more than 450 association members had created their own e-commerce websites and run successful online business, thereby helping grow their business and increase their revenue. Included are BQ Shoes, Danavimart, Co.opmart Danang, Eurowindow Danang, Vingo Life, and Vitraco.

Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs Association Chairman Ha Duc Hung said “In our effort to support our association members to access e-commerce, we have offered many training courses to them with a focus on using Industry 4.0 technology to boost their online sales, and take advantage of online advertising with Google Ads. We have also provided our members with the necessary support to use multi-channel management to rocket retail growth. At the same time, we have created the most favourable conditions for our members to introduce their products and services on our communication channels such as website, facebook fanpage, zalo, and viber.

In 2018, Da Nang launched its e-commerce trading floor at danangtrade.gov.vn in a bid to encourage local businesses to become more involved in e–commerce activities, as well as create a closer link between businesses in Da Nang and those across Viet Nam and in South-East Asia at large. Till date, a combined total of about 1,600 businesses in Da Nang have participated in the city’s e-commerce trading floor with nearly 2,500 products and services being on display.

Mr. Vo Van Khanh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Trade Joint Stock Company which is the operator of the Da Nang e-commerce trading floor said that this trading floor in the city has helped local businesses establish a wider market presence by providing cheaper and more efficient distribution channels for their products or services, creating a closer link between producers and consumer, helping  local businesses earn the trust of their customers with their "made in Da Nang" products.
