In recent times, unauthorised passenger coaches, disguised as tourist or contract vehicles, have been reportedly park along some streets and pick-up locations in Da Nang.

In addition, there have been a number of tourist coaches with foreign registration plates operating in the city, and the majority of them come from Laos.  Traffic violations by these vehicles are increasingly complicated, adversely affecting local traffic safety.

In an attempt to deal with this problem of high concern, a municipal inter-disciplinary inspection team has increased the checks and monitoring of these vehicles since April 20. The focus has been paid on carrying out patrons and checks at such key pick-up locations as the Da Nang International Airport, Hoa Cam Overpass, Coach Station and its surroundings, Van Don area, Tho Quang fishing wharf, railway station, hospitals, schools, parking lots, and dormitories to handle unlicensed passenger coaches.

As of May 4, the interdisciplinary team from relevant local agencies had checked 52 vehicles and imposed fines of VND more than 27 million on 5 vehicles for their illegal operation.

The interdisciplinary inspection team will continue to intensify the crackdown on unlicensed passenger coaches, and increase checks of tourist coaches with foreign registration plates to detect and deal with any violations,  until March 2022, including weekends and public holidays. The heed will be paid on increasing checks of local transport operators, domestic tourist coaches, vehicles with foreign registration plates, contract vehicles, and coaches operating on fixed routes.

The aim is to ensure local safety and legitimate tourist transport activities, contributing to building an civilised and polite transport and tourism environment in the city.
