The Da Nang government has urged relevant local agencies and the Da Nang Power Company Limited (Da Nang PC) to ensure smooth electricity supply in order to support the city's fight against COVID-19, especially at designated quarantine facilities, in the midst of a “decisive time” within which to prevent the further spread of the virus.

In detail, the district-level authorities should close;ly work with the Da Nang PC to strengthen the inspection of the safety corridors of the power grid, especially construction works that are at risk of committing violations.

Strict penalties must be imposed on violations causing disruptions to the power supply to hospitals, district-level medical centres and centralised quarantine facilities across the city.

In particular, Da Nang PC is required to that there will be no power cuts at the above-mentioned venues during this challenging time, except for cases under which power must be cut off for troubleshooting as required.

Besides, all power-cut schedules applicable to transmission lines and sub-stations linked to the power supply to the aforementioned important sites were halted from today.

For the time being, Da Nang PC is focusing on conducting the periodic testing of equipment on transmission lines and transformer stations, fulfilling cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of transformers, preventing the overloading of transmission lines and transformers, and strengthening the inspection and consolidation of power grids.
