Da Nang halts taxi, Grab services as part of COVID-19 prevention efforts
Da Nang has temporarily halted all passenger transport services operated by taxies and contract vehicles with fewer than nine seats across the city, including ride-hailing apps like GrabCar, from 6:00 am on May 17 until new further notice.

Besides, rudimentary vehicles, two-wheel taxi-motorbikes like GrabBike carrying passengers and the delivery of goods by shippers are also subject to the suspension order.
As per request by the municipal government, all drivers of the above-mentioned vehicles must visit medical facilities in their neighbourhoods to make their compulsory medical declarations and have their throat and nose swab samples taken for SARS-CoV-2 testing.
When the suspension period expires, drivers who test negative for the virus will be allowed to resume their operation.
Organisations and individuals involved in the aforementioned types of transportation must strictly adhere to the suspension rules, and take accountability for any violations.
Relevant functional bodies will task themselves with intensifying inspections to detect and handle violations.
