In its written request released on Friday, the Da Nang Department of Transport demand that functional agencies continue to call for the driver of taxies, contracted vehicles with under nine seats and motorbikes offering passenger transport and goods delivery services, ride-hailing tech apps, to show up for COVID-19 tests.

Till date, a total of 1,417 taxi, ride-hailing drivers and delivery people on motorbikes, known locally as “shippers,” across the city have yet to have their swab samples for COVID-19 testing.

In case, drivers who fail to make compulsory medical declarations for testing under the direction of the municipal government will be handled for the act of violating the city's COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

The Department of Transport has asked businesses offering passenger transport and goods delivery services by taxi, contracted vehicle with under nine seats and motorbike to call for their drive to come to district/ commune-level medical centres for COVID-19 tests.

Businesses that apply technologies to launch transport services such as Grab, Be, Gojek, FastGo, MyGo, Vato, Now, Loship, Baemin and Ahamove and food delivery service providers have suspended their app operations.
