The Da Nang Department of Transport is asking the developers and construction units of transport infrastructure projects across the city to ensure the strict practice of compulsory safety measures against COVID-19 at construction sites, as the city is now placed in the midst of a “decisive time” within which to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Importance must be attached to developing plans in arranging tasks for their staff members, technicians and others working in the office, at the construction site and at home in a reasonable manner.

In particular, construction workers must make health declarations and have their body temperatures measured before entering the construction site, and wear face masks at all times when in the construction site in a bid to reduce a risk of infections.

Heed should be paid to increasing the frequency of cleaning commonly-touched surfaces and objects available at construction sites with disinfectant.

It is a must-do to closely monitor the delivery schedule, progress and the volume of construction equipment and materials imported from foreign countries or transported from nationwide affected localities, and then make reports to relevant local agencies for active resolution if needed.

Another task is to ensure the parallelism between the on-site construction progress and the completion of legal documents serving the final completion, acceptance and payment of work items.

All appraisal paperwork must be carried out online through the Public Service Portal of the municipal Department of Transport.

It is also necessary to strengthen the application of information technology and the mechanisation in management and construction processes with using more machine power than human labour, as well as accelerate the quality and progress of work items as required.
