Our observations on May 5 indicated that the strictest health measures have been put in place at all businesses operating in the city. Every employee is required to be responsible for following the protective measures in order to protect themselves and others: wearing face masks, frequently washing hands, and maintaining physical distance.

Japan’s Daiwa Vietnam Company now has a total of 3,700 employees working in the three shifts.

Daiwa Vietnam’s Director Nguyen Van Phu said ‘We are urging all our staff members to stay vigilant against Covid-19. In addition, we regularly conduct disinfection in our company twice a week in a bid to maintain a safe and secure workplace”.

Viet Hoa Electronics company located in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park in Lien Chieu District, which has a total of about 4,000 employees, has enhanced its measures to control COVID-19 with a focus on limiting visitor numbers, and requiring its staff to take preventative measures in order to protect themselves and others from the deadly virus.

Sinaran Vietnam Company located An Don Industrial Park in Son Tra District with a total of 700 employees, has set up cardboard partitions on dining tables to ensure the safe distance among workers, and maintain their hygiene when eating and drinking.

In its efforts to ensure the ultimate safety of over 2,400 employees, Thuan Phuoc Seafoods and Trading Corporation has focussed on raising awareness of coronavirus disease among its employees in order help them understand and handle this coronavirus pandemic effectively. The company has also asked their employees who travelled to epidemic-affected areas to monitor their health and self-isolate at home, as well as contact their nearest medical facilities for assistance.

Observations of our reporters indicate all employees at citywide companies are seen wearing face coverings, queuing for having their body temperatures measured and disinfecting their hands before entering their workplace.  Besides, the staff members are required to maintain a 2 metre distance from others at both workplaces and at dining areas.

Mr Tran Van Bien, Deputy Head of Authorities of Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks said his agency has urged citywide businesses to promtly introduce strictest measures to control COVID-19 at their workplace, and abide by guidelines and recommendations for infection prevention and control issued by Da Nang government over recent days. The focus should be on ensuring good practice of the 5 recommendations of Vietnamese Ministry of Health, namely ‘Khau trang’ (Face mask) – ‘Khu khuan’ (Disinfection) – ‘Khoang cach’ ‘Distance’ - ‘Khong tu tap’ (No gatherings) – ‘Khai bao y te’ (Health Declaration) in a bid to prevent the further spread of the virus. In addition, heed should be paid to asking those who travelled to other Vietnamese localities during recent 4-day break for the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) to declare their health conditions and monitor their health.

Businesses across Da Nang are taking drastic action in a bid to protect their staff from COVID-19,  keep their production stable, and make a great contribution to the city’s growth.
