In their efforts to keep the project on track, construction units have required their workers to work on Saturdays and Sundays, and to extend their working hours to 10pm.

Mr Ngo Hoang Nhan, Project Manager of the Software Park No. 2 project, said since early May, the management board of the project has required all staff and workers in the construction site to wear a face mask, keep physical distance between them on-site, regularly disinfect hands, install and use the Bluezone tracing application and NCOVI application of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications to assist people nationwide to make voluntary medical declarations, contributing to the prevention and fight against COVID-19. In addition, the construction units have deployed guards staffing at the entrance gates to remind workers to disinfect their hands, and check their temperature to screen for COVID-19 before entering the construction site.

Mr Nguyen Quang Thanh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, said that the Software Park No. 2 project is expected to become a bright spot in Da Nang to attract investment in the field of technology, and qualified human resources.

Once completed, this project is expected to accommodate about 6,000 IT employees.

The Software Park No. 2 project is one of the city's solutions to the problem of lacking premises for technology companies.

“The Software Park No. 2 project is expected to not only help the city attract domestic and foreign investments, especially in the fields of software, digital content, research and development, but also create a space for start-ups to develop their innovative ideas. In addition, the project will become a great place to connect with state-owned and private software companies, along with foreign-owned firms, create an enabling environment for exchanging their products and sharing their ideas and experiences, and avoid duplicate research.”, Mr. Thanh said.

According to Mr. Dang Ngoc Hai, General Secretary of the Da Nang Software Business Association, in recent years, the software industry has played an important role in driving the city’s growth, attracting an increasing number of investors to put their money into the information technology (IT) sector. As a result, premises have seen increasing demand from IT businesses.

Many businesses have suspended their operations due to the lack of premises for producing. Therefore, the No. 2 Software Park project is expected to bring huge opportunities to businesses to get on the fast track to growth. It also demonstrates the determination of the Da Nang government in developing the software industry into one of the most important economic sectors in Da Nang in the coming time.
