Arousing pride in Vietnamese goods

The Da Nang People's Committee has issued a plan to implement a domestic market development project in association with the ‘Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods’ campaign in Da Nang in the 2021 - 2025 period.

By 2025, more than 90% of consumers and businesses across the city will get familiar with Vietnamese goods identification programmes such as ‘Proud of Vietnamese goods’ and ‘Essence of Vietnamese goods’.

The market share of Vietnamese products will accounts for over 85% in modern distribution channels such as commercial centres, supermarkets, convenience stores, mini marts and e-commerce sites and more than 80% in traditional systems such as wet markets and large grocery stores.

The plan also proposes forming news columns entitled ‘Proud of Vietnamese goods’ and ‘Essence of Vietnamese goods’ on media channels, including audio, visual, printed, and electronic newspapers in Da Nang in a bid to encourage more consumption of ‘made-in-Viet Nam’ goods.

Besides, the plan sets out four key groups of tasks, including: information, communications; developing a fixed and sustainable distribution system of goods, giving priority to using Vietnamese goods; improving competitiveness for Vietnamese goods and enterprises; inspection, market control and the protection of consumers’ health and rights.
