Con Market promised to get 'civilised and modern look'
As per proposal made by the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the municipal People’s Committee is mulling over the re-building of the Con Market, one of the largest of its kind in the city, at a total cost of about VND 500 billion.
The new development is promised to make the site a still traditional yet more civilised and modern market.
Once approved by the municipal administration, the Department of Industry and Trade will carry out necessary procedures to select a competent consultant to develop a investment roadmap for the re-building of the market, especially in terms of financial plan and suitable form of investment.
The new Con Market is expected to have a basement and 3 storeys, covering a total gross internal floor area of 32,600m2. Of this, about 18,000m2 will be used to meet the demand for rental space amongst all existing stall holders, whilst the remaining area will be coved by other ancillary service activities and an increase of 20% - 30% in the number of new traders.
As for its form of investment, the construction cost will be covered by the State budget whilst stall holders will be required to make the payment of premise rental fees every 15 years.
