The Da Nang People's Committee has just issued specific regulations on funding and procurement mechanisms for COVID-19 prevention and control and the prices of COVID-19 testing services in the city.

Under the regulations, the funding for COVID-19 prevention and control come from the local budget and other lawful financial sources as prescribed in Decision No. 482/QD-TTg dated March 29, 2021 by the Prime Minister and Dispatch No. 4841/BTC-HCSN dated May 12, 2021 by the Ministry of Finance.

With regard to the procurement for COVID-19 prevention and control, agencies directly using the fundings and their governance bodies are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the list of items, types, quantities, quality, unit prices, standards, norms and proposed work contents for submission to competent authorities for official decision on procurement.

It is a must-do to ensure the management, distribution and use of the fundings for COVID-19 prevention and control missions in a transparent an economical manner.

As for the prices of COVID-19 testing services, single-sample testing still belongs to a list of medical examination and treatment services which are not covered by the health insurance fund in public medical examination and treatment establishments.

In the group-testing method, a person must pay VND226,800 for a ‘pooled test’ of samples taken from 5 individuals, and VND 163,400 for the 10-pooled testing.  

These above-mentioned prices shall be applied until further notice from the municipal People’s Council.
