The Da Nang Department of Transport has sent a formal request to operators of passenger transport services across the country, requiring that their vehicles and drivers must follow COVID-19 regulations upon arrival in Da Nang.

The Department has also given an advisory opinion on the proposal to suspend passenger transport services (including fixed-route coaches, taxis, contract cars, tourist coaches) linking Da Nang with nationwide COVID-19-affected areas which have been announced by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, until further notice. However, certain transportation vehicles will remain operational in Da Nang for special reasons. Included are carrying COVID-19 patients, bringing those who have already completed their compulsory quarantine period home, transporting workers and experts to and from their workplaces in industrial parks within the city, and using for infection prevention and control purpose.

In addition, passenger transport vehicles travelling through affected areas will be banned from picking up or dropping off passengers from Da Nang (except in certain cases of emergency situations, special work and infection prevention and control purpose).

Passenger transport services departing from Da Nang to COVID-free areas will remain operational at 50 percent capacity with adoption of strict measures to control COVID-19.

Operators of road freight service in Da Nang must comply with the national regulations and spray disinfectants for the prevention of COVID-19 in order to ensure safe operations before, during and after transportation activities in line with the Ministry of Health’s regulations. Drivers of vehicles and their passengers who are those involved in loading and unloading operations must install and use such apps as NCOVI, Bluezone, tokhaiyte.vn in a bid to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.
