The planed-to-be-upgraded 7.5 km-long section starts at Km24+633 in Hoa Nhon Commune and ends at Km32+185 in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District.

Accordingly, the section will be upgraded and expanded to meet the standard of a Grade III motorway in the delta with 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 ones for mixed-use means of transport with a width of more than 20m to achieve a design speed of 80 km/h.

The upgrade is expected to cost more than VND430 billion, which uses capital from the State budget and government bonds in the medium-term investment plan for the 2021 - 2025 period.

If approved, the project will be carried out from 2021 to 2023 and put into use in 2024.

It is known that the parts of the National Highway 14B running through Da Nang has a total length of more than 32km.

A section of this national route stretching from the Tien Sa Port to the Tuy Loan intersection has been upgraded and expanded to 4 lanes.

However, the remaining 7.5km section as mentioned above now has only a 2 lanes, resulting in a bottleneck adversely affecting traffic order and safety. The upgrade of this section with a scale of 4 lanes is an urgent need to ensure regional connectivity.
