From May 20 to May 31, the local authorities conducted an unscheduled inspection of 14 serviced accommodation establishments across the city, of which 7 were found going against the compulsory COVID-19 safety rules.

In detail, the Inspectors of the municipal Department of Tourism levied a total amount of VND 55 million in fines on 5 hotels and transferred the booked records of violations committed by 2 other apartment establishments to the district-level People's Committee for handling according to their competence.

The 7 aforementioned sites completely failed to sign commitments to complying with COVID-19 prevent and control measures, have plans for pandemic prevention and control and conduct COVID-19 safety self-assessment under the guidance of the National Administration of Tourism. Also, they didnot ask their clients to make medical declarations as requested by the municipal administration.

In the coming time, the Inspectors of the Department of Tourism and other competent agencies will continue to strengthen unexpected inspection visits to other serviced accommodation facilities, travel agencies and tourist attractions so as to monitor their compliance with COVID-19 prevention rules and strictly handle violations.
