11,121 apartments already put into use in Da Nang
According to a report recently released by the Da Nang People's Committee on the construction, management and use of apartments, a combined total of 11,121 social housing and resettlement apartments, shop-houses, workers' housing units have till date been put into use citywide. Of this, 9,990 apartments are now for lease.
As for the management and use of state-owned apartments and social housing units, the Centre for Housing Management and Exploitation under the municipal Department of Construction is in charge of managing the operation of all apartment buildings in the city.
The apartment complexes of Thuan Phuoc, Hoa Cuong and Dac Lam San (Specialty Forests) Hoa Minh will see their useful life terminate after this year. The municipal government has, therefore, approved the continuous use of these three apartment complexes until the end of this year. The quality of the trio will be appraised for handling in accordance with the laws on housing.
With regard to the construction of social housing and resettlement projects funded hu the national budget, the Tan Tra low-income apartment project located in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, consisting of 163 apartments, is expected to reach completion by late this year.
Meanwhile, the handling of necessary procedures are now in progress for the construction of 160 resettlement apartments in Khe Can area, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District.
In addition, under the housing development programe in Da Nang by 2020, with a vision towards 2030, in the coming time, work will start on 2 new projects, namely a VND320 billion, 400-unit social housing apartment building for those who made meritorious services to the national revolution and the second stage of a social housing project in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park with a scale of 600 apartments at an estimated cost of VND 490 billion. The capital of these two buildings will be covered by the national budget.
For the time being, the development of 8 social housing apartment projects developed by private investors is progressing, with a combined total of 6,573 apartments, of 3,432 have been put into operation, whilst the rest are under construction.
In the coming time, the city will call for investment into 3 social housing projects totalling about VND2,815 billion VND with a sum of about 3,450 apartments.
