Despite many difficulties and challenges sparked by the complicated developments of COVID-19, Da Nang Port has still been on its strong feet in maintaining efficient production and business activities in tandem with complying with pandemic prevention and control measures and keeping its staff on stable payrolls.

The business exceeded the targets of production and business activities set for the first half of this year. Notably, during the 6-month period, the cargo throughput at the port climbed by 23% as compared to the same period last year, in which, the volume of container goods went up by 30.28%.

Secretary of the Party organisation cum General Director of Da Nang Port Tran Le Tuan said that the above-mentioned results were obtained thanks to great efforts made by the company in flexibly managing production and business activities, with a focus on realising the ‘dual goal’ of pandemic prevention while promoting production and business activities.

At the same time, importance was attached to effectively implementing the city’s landmark campaign entitled ‘2021: the year of restoring growth and promoting economic development’ and stepping up support for social security activities and the National COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Most notably, in late 2020, Da Nang Port became the first e-port in central Viet Nam by covering computerisation of all its customer interface and internal back office processes.

Since the beginning of the year, the Da Nang Port has made drastic changes in digital transformation and provided  a wide range of online services through the curent E-port system, thus significantly simplifying all transportation procedures and making its business paperless in light of COVID-19.

Accordingly, electronic delivery orders, electronic customs clearance, electronic invoices, and non-cash payments have been adopted in Da Nang Port in a bid to enable customers to make contactless transactions in times of COVID-19.

Da Nang Port is known for being one of Viet Nam’s integrated logistics companies, and a major hub in central Viet Nam. There is no denying that it plays a pivotal role in implementing renewal initiatives, and accelerating the growth of Da Nang, and Viet Nam at large.

At the same time, the company is now on track to carry out administrative procedures to soon put a large-scale logistics service centre in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District into operation as soon as possible.

Another task is to accelerate the implementation of investment projects in terms of means, equipment, and infrastructure in a bid to improve productivity and service quality, and meet the maximum requirements of customers.

Since the beginning of this year, the Da Nang Port has presented about VND 10 billion worth of support to the country’s COVID-19 prevention and control, and social security missions. Of this, VND8 billion went to the National COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, VND500 million was given to those financially struggling in light of the virus resurgence, and the rest came to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee.
