Da Son-Da Nang's largest slaughterhouse reopens, supplying 10.5 tonnes of pork and beef to the market
The Da Son slaughterhouse based in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, the largest of its kind in Da Nang, resumed its operation on Wednesday morning with only 2 cattle processing lines.
This site has conducted the slaughtering of 109 pigs and 14 cows with a combined total of 10.55 tones of meat to meet consumer demand amid the tough period during which all city dwellers must ‘stay where they are’.
As reported by Vice Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People's Committee Nguyen Nhuong, onply 28 employees are complying with the so-called ‘3- on- the- spot” (on-site production, on-site dining, on-site rest) approach at the slaughterhouse, of whom 3 are veterinary staffers from the Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Medicine under the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development,
All processed pork and beef are loaded onto refrigerated vehicles for the distributions to the local market.
Director of Da Nang Food Processing One Member Co., Ltd, the owner of the Da Son slaughterhouse Pham Tuan Anh informed that, this site has a daily capacity of processing about 300 pigs and 30 cows As expected, tomorrow morning, August 26, 150 pigs and 20 cows will be handled for meat.
According to the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, early Wednesday morning, another slaughterhouse owned by Ms. Ha Thi Thanh Hoa in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District provided 1.77 tonnes of poultry meat for the market. Since August 18, this slaughterhouse has processed 5,425 chickens with a total volume of 7.19 tonnes of meat.
