The Da Nang People's Council has just issued Resolution No. 29/NQ-HDND on announcing the list of 80 key projects, creating a driving force for the city’s socio-economic development in the 2021 - 2025 period.

In detail, there will be 50 investment projects funded by the national and municipal budgets, 4 will use the funding covered by national ministries and agencies and 26 will be developed by private businesses.

Out of the  50 investment projects funded by the national and municipal budgets, 22 was transitioned from the 2016-2020 period to the 2021-2025 period that are eligible for capital allocation according to the Law on Public Investment.

Included are Northwest axis No.1 route ( a section from Hue T-Juntion Overpass to Da Nang Cancer Hospital, a section from Ho Tung Mau Street to National Highway 1A and a part of Nguyen An Ninh Street); the ring-road system in the west connecting National Highway No 14B and the Ho Chi Minh Trail; the upgrade of the intersection at the western  end of Tran Thi Ly Bridge; the construction of the shared infrastructure at Lien Chieu Port; Da Nang City Sustainable Development Project; Da Nang Hi-Tech Park; the first phase of te Da Nang Software Park No. 2 Project.

meanwhile, 8 projects transitioning from the 2016-2020 period to the 2021-2025 period are not eligible for capital allocation under the Law on Public Investment; including Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian promenade; the expansion of the Da Nang General Hospital; the Ngu Hanh Son Cultural and Historical Park; a project to build Da Nang into a smart city in the 2021-2025 period.

As for 20 new additional projects for the period 2021-2025, 5 projects are eligible for capital allocation according to the Law on Public Investment and the 15 remaining ones are not eligible.

Specially, 5 projects are eligible to allocate capital according to the provisions of the Law on Public Investment, including the construction of Hoa Xuan Wastewater Treatment Stations at the third phase;  the development of a smart traffic control and monitoring system in the city; a wastewater collection system in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District; the re-building of Hoa Vang Senior High School at the second stage; the building of a separate wastewater collection system and sewer lines to transfer rainwater to the Han River for the basin from Ho Xuan Huong Street to Quang Nam Province.

Particularly, there are 4 projects using the funding covered by national ministries and agencies will be transitioned from the 2016-2020 period to the 2021-2025 period.  They are the  East-West Economic Corridor Route No. 2 (National Highway 14D); the extension of  National Highway 14B at the second stage; Da Nang University Urban Area and traffic connection from the Da Nang International Airport with the western part of the city and upgrading the current infrastructure to improve the airport’s exploitation capacity.

In 26 projects developed by private businesses, there are 14 projects transitioning from the 2016-2020 to the 2021-2025 period and 12 new ones for the period 2021-2025.

Notably, among the new projects developed by private businesses, there are many key projects such as the Da Nang Creative Space; Nam O eco-tourism area; a 61,767m² complex of financial, commercial, entertainment, casino and luxury apartments in Son Tra District's Phuoc My Ward; urban reconstruction projects.
