Supermarkets ensures sufficient supplies for week-long consumption amid COVID-19 tougher restrictions
From 8:00am on August 16 to 8:00 am on August 23, Da Nang will stop all activities citywide in tandem with banning all residents from leaving their homes to focus on pandemic prevention and control. Therefore, supermarkets citywide have urgently stockpiled a large volume of essential goods at the highest level and offer lists of combo ranging from VND100,000 - VND300,000 each.

Local supermarkets as well as their distributors are implementing plans to stockpile goods in large quantities of essential goods “as much as possible” on August 14 and 15 and in the coming days to meet our locals' demand.
Thereby, round up of supermarkets such as Co.op Mart Da Nang, Big C, MM Mega Market, Lotte Mart Danang shows that many essential items, especially greens, fish and meat, are being sold at bigger volumes than usual by 3 to 6 times.
In order to be safer and more convenient in trading, residential groups will compile lists of households according to the type of combo that they want to buy, then the ward and district-level officers will transfer to supermarkets twice a week. After that, functional forces will receive goods and distribute them to residents.
According to 141 Vinmart+ convenience stores across the city have doubled goods quantity, equivalent to 8 - VND10 billion worth of goods to be capable of providing a total of17,000 combos per day.
MM Mega Market will be responsible for supplying goods to Hai Chau and Cam Le districts in the next 7 days according to the request from the municipal People's Committee with the ability to supply 3,000 combos including vegetables, meat, fish, eggs per day priced at VND 200,000 - VND 300,000.
Meanwhile, Big C Da Nang supermarket joins hands in providing 2,000 essential combos worth VND 200,000 each comprising fish, meat, vegetables, instant noodles per day to poor households. Besides, this supermarket is also capable of delivering 500 additional combos/day to locals in Thanh Khe and Son Tra districts.
Moreover, many corporations and businesses are planning to engage in ensuring food supplies for locals from August 16 to 23. Sun Group, for instance, is slated to present 30,000 gifts of essential necessities for poor households and 1,500 tons of fruit and vegetables for the city.
Phuong Trang Group (FUTA Group) is also on track to support fruit and vegetables for the city’s wards to reduce the order load facing supermarkets.
Meanwhile, the transfer of goods receiving places from Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market to Da Nang International Exhibition and Convention Centre as well as restricting the entry and exit of traders and freight carriers lead to the decrease of the fruit and vegetables to the market by nearly 100 tonnes.
However, the amount of fruit and vegetables here has gradually become more stable with 276 tonnes of vegetables and tuber. On normal days, the wholesale market supplies 300-350 tons for the whole city.
