The above-mentioned instruction was made by Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Chairman of the People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet during his Monday inspection visits to Mega Market, Lotte Mart Da Nang, Danavi Mart, all of which are highly popular shopping sites for food in the city.

As reported, on Monday delivery people on motorbikes (locally known as shippers) from key supermarkets, marts and convenience stores resumed their operations following the approval by the municipal administration.

However, the three aforementioned supermarkets were overwhelmed with orders from locals whereas the number of employees in charge of packaging parcels of food and shippers meeting the strict criteria for the delivery job was still limited. These food providers, therefore, failed to meet such a surge in public demand for food.

To address this mater of concerning, the managers of the supermarkets suggested the municipal authorities continue to create favourable conditions for supermarkets to employee more personnel in charge of goods packaging an delivery.

Regarding his instruction on this issue, Chairman Triet urged the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to find appropriate measures for an increase in the number of people working at supermarkets.

Also, the compliance of COVID-19 prevention and control requirements amongst the authorised must be strictly monitored.

In addition, the food quality must be completely guaranteed upon the handover to customers, and plans must be mapped out to welcome back shoppers once the stay-at-home-at-all-times order is lifted by the municipal government in the coming time.
