Da Nang businesses in desperate need of more support to overcome difficulties
The Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones has already received many recommendations from businesses on the removal of obstacles and difficulties for the promotion of their production and business activities once the municipal administration continues to ease restrictions against COVID-19 in the coming time.
The businesses operating in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and industrial parks (IPs) citywide suggested that the local authorities give a nod to the exemption or reduction of social insurance payments for enterprises and workers who have to leave work during their mandatory quarantine period, and the reduction of corporate income taxes and electricity and water prices for businesses that still owe social insurance as they are financially struggling amid COVID-19.
Also, it is a need to create favourable conditions for enterprises to access low-interest loans for the production stability, reduce interest rates, extend extending debt rescheduling at banks to reduce financial pressure on businesses and quickly release supportive regimes and policies for employees who are suspended from work due to the impact of the current COVID-19 resurgence.
Regarding the practice of pandemic prevention and control rules, local authorities have been urged to give support for businesses in the conduction of COVID-19 testing for their staff and facilitate all workers in IPs to receive a full 2-dose course of COVID-19 vaccine
Also, it is suggested that the city should have a flexible policy for those who have been fully vaccinated in a bid to head towards a new normal.
Vaccination-related information on the current electronic health books should be standardize into ‘the so-called ‘vaccine travel pass’. This pass stores and manages verified certifications for COVID-19 tests or vaccines, a highly practical alternative to all paper-base permits such as the QR code travel pass or the negative test result.
Last, but not least, the local administrations should allow businesses operating in the healthcare sector and the producing pandemic preventive goods to assign 100% of employees at work provided all safety measures against COVID-19 are strictly implemented, thus ensuring the circulation and transportation of essential goods, raw materials and supplies for production.
