Rail services on Ha Noi- HCMC route expected to resume from early October

The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) is offering two options for resuming its services on the Ha Noi- Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) route from October 1.

First option will allow resumption of the pair of trains:SE7/8 from October 1, SE3/4 from October 7, and SE5/6 from October 14.

In addition, rail services linking Ha Noi with Hai Phong will resume from early October.  LP5/LP6 trains will run from October 1 while LP3/LP8 trains will run from October 8, and additional pairs of LP7/HP2 will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays .

From October 8, NA1/2 trains will run between Ha Noi  and Vinh while SE19/20 will run on the Ha Noi - Da Nang route.

Rail services linking Saigon with Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Da Nang will be also resumed operations from October.

Second option will allow resumption of the pair of trains: SE7/8 from October 1, SE3/4 from October 14, and SE5/6 from October 21.

As for the Ha Noi with Hai Phong route, LP5/LP6 trains will run from October 8, LP3/LP8 from October 15, and extra pair of LP7/HP2 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

From October 15, NA1/2 trains will run between Ha Noi  and Vinh while SE19/20 trains will run on the Ha Noi -Da Nang route.

Rail services linking Saigon with Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Da Nang is slated to resume operations from late October or early November.

Since COVID-19 outbreak in the southern region, the railway sector has only operated trains to transport COVID-19-affected people to return home based on the demand of management agencies and localities.
