Western Ring Road No.2 to be put into use before June 30, 2022: Da Nang Party chief asks

The crucial Western Ring Road No.2 project, one of Da Nang’s key projects helping improve the connectivity of southeast and western rural regions to the city centre, must be put into use no later than June 30, 2022. In the immediate future, it is recommended to focus on site clearance for the construction of the construction work. The first phase of the project must be completed by late this year. Which section of the Road reaches completion, it must be opened to traffic to ensure traffic connection.

The instruction was made by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang during his inspection visit to the construction site of the project on Saturday.

The Hoa Vang District People's Committee pledge to ensure that site clearance will be completed by December, 2021 at the latest, in which, by October 2021, the section of Nguyen Tat Thanh road extending to internal road No.5 in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park will be completed.

The Western Ring Road No.2 project with a length of 14.3 km passing through Hoa Vang, Lien Chieu and Cam Le districts belongs to a large-scale Da Nang transport infrastructure improvement project,

The project is getting underway from 2020 - 2022 with a total investment capital of over US$ 61.37 million, of which US$ 45 million is loaned by OFID ( the OPEC Fund for International Development), whilst about 16.37 million US$ comes from Viet Nam’s reciprocal capital allocated through the Da Nang budget.

This project consists of 2 components, namely the Western Ring Road No.2 and a road associated with a bridge over the Co Co River.

This project aims to boost access to employment opportunities and social amenities, ultimately supporting socioeconomic development and benefiting over one million people directly.

Regarding the Lien Chieu wastewater treatment station and the drainage canal route from the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to Cu De River, Secretary Quang directed functional agencies to speed up the construction progress.
