26 OCOP products developed in Da Nang till date
The Da Nang People's Committee has just approved the recognition and classification of eight new ‘One Commune- One Product’ (OCOP) items.
In detail, there are four OCOP products meet the 4-star requirements, namely the baked peanut-coconut cake by the My Phuong pastry establishment at 234 Doan Huu Trung, Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District, the Thang Hoa DR.Trung dried cordyceps by the Vinseed Biotechnology Co., Ltd at 258-260 Le Quang Chi Street, Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, the dried catfish seasoned with spices and grilled squid by Bac Dau Co., Ltd. at 11 Van Don, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District.
The municipal administration also recognised four 3-star products, namely Tam Nguyen ginger tea by the namesake family-run business on Khai Tay 1 Street, residential group No.24, Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, ‘cha bo’ (beef paste) by the Phuoc Ha Business Household at K123/H54/41 Cu Chinh Lan Street, Hoa Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District, Thanh Trung ‘ca bo rim’ (simmered fish) by the namesake family-run business on Khai Tay 2 Street, Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District and ‘cha heo’ (pork paste) by the Vo Thi Huynh family-run establishment at 40 Tran Duy Chien Street, Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District.
The certification for the recognition of the above-mentioned eight products as OCOP ones is valid for three years.
Till date, Da Nang has developed 26 OCOP products till date.
The OCOP model made its debut in 2008 in Viet Nam, following the model of Japan-initiated ‘One Village, One Product’ and Thailand-developed ‘One Town, One Product’.
It is an economic development programme for rural areas focusing on increasing internal power and values, which is also meant to help with the national target programme on upgrading rural areas.
