The latest figures released from the Da Nang General Statistics Office show that Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October went down by 0.28% against a month earlier, and an increase of 1.62% when compared with the same period last year. CPI in the first ten months of this year grew by 2.43% over the same period last year.

Among three groups of commodities and services experiencing rising prices last month, transport witnessed the highest month-on-month increase of 3.01%, which was attributed to the recent fuel price hike.

Also, the prices of textiles, hats and footwear inched up by 0.24%; and goods and other services by 0.14% due to surge in public demand for food and personal services after a long time of strictly implementing social distancing.

Meanwhile, five groups witnessed dropped prices compared to the previous month. In particular, the prices of food and catering services went down by 1.55%; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials 0.25%; equipment and household appliances 0.23%; beverage and tobacco 0.14%; and post and telecommunications 0.08%.
