Entries invited to Sao Bien Architecture Awards 2021
The Sao Bien Architecture Awards 2021, recently launched by the Da Nang Architects’ Association, is now calling for applications from the Central Viet Nam and the Central Highlands regions with the aim of promoting sustainable and advanced architectural trends in the regions.
The event is open to elite architects operating in the regions. In particular, the contest also features separate awards for entrants who are final year tertiary students and graduates from architecture training establishments.
Under the rules, all of the entries muse be designs that have deployed during the 2016 – 2021 period and excellent graduate architecture projects created by architecture students from May 2020 to present.
Each entry shall meet basic and directional criteria such as creativity, green technology, intelligence, the use of sustainable materials, climate change adaptation, the conservation and development of local cultural values.
Of special note, all of them have yet to win any awards at previously-held national or international competitions.
Applications for the contest are required to be submitted to the headquarters of the Da Nang Association of Architects at K54/10 Ong Ich Khiem Street no later than December 8, 2021.
The awards ceremony is slated to be held at the end of 2021.
The first prize of VND20 million, the second worth VND10 million, the third valued at VND5 millionVND and three consolation prizes worth VND3 million will be given out to outstanding architectures.
Besides, the first prize of VND10 million, the second worth VND5 million, the third valued at VND3 millionVND and three consolation prizes worth VND1million will be awarded to elite students.
According to Architect To Van Hung, Chairman of the Da Nang Architects’ Association cum Director of the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, following the great success of the first Sao Bien Architecture Awards held in 2015, this year’s event is on its mission to raise public awareness of green’ architecture and honour quality architectural projects that promote new aesthetic, economic, and environmentally friendly values towards the public.
