Right after reopening from mid-October, a number of service providers such as restaurants, hotels, and accommodation facilities, across Da Nang’s Son Tra District have launched many attractive promotions to attract more residents and visitors, thereby step-by-step accelerating the service sector recovery.

Recent statistics released by the district’s Culture, Information and Sports Office show that, as of November 8, more than 50% of accommodation establishments and hotels in the district had reopened. Most of them have been offering numerous discounts or launching many attractive promotional packages in a bid to attract customers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Trang, the manager of a chain of the Icity Son Tra villas and apartments, said although her accommodation establishment has seen a low number of guests since its reopening, it has still maintained the best quality services for its guests. Also, it has been offering 30-50% discount on its services to attract more customers.

Similarly, the Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and the A La Carte Hotel have been providing many interesting promotional programmes, such as ‘buy one, get one free’ offers in parallel with discount programmes to stimulate demand.

While accommodation establishments are gradually recovering, restaurants and eateries have welcomed a large number of customers since their reopenings, especially on weekends.

Mrs. Nguyen Lan Anh, the manager of the 4U Beach Restaurant in Son Tra District’s Phuoc My Ward, said that the increasing demand for food at restaurants has led to positive changes in restaurants’ business methods to adapt to the current situation.

In particular, branded restaurants have changed their business strategies from focusing on high-income customers to medium-income ones. People with medium incomes have a much more stable and sustainable demand for food, so this is a source of domestic visitors that can provide a more stable revenue growth guarantee.

Vice Chairman of the Son Tra District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nam underlined the need for accommodation establishments across the district to ensure the safety of their staff and tourists in light of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also urged service businesses to strictly comply with the city’s COVID-19 precautionary measures, including scanning QR codes to confirm customers-made medical declarations, arranging seats with appropriate distances, and regularly cleaning and disinfecting facilities.

“In the coming time, the district will continue to implement a project to improve the quality of tourism services, and build a safe and friendly tourism environment in Son Tra District during the 2016-2020 period and over next years. Heed will be paid to carrying out many sales promotions in the last months of 2021 in a bid to help businesses introduce their products to customers, thereby driving their post-pandemic production and business recovery” added Vice Chairman Nam.

Also, importance will be attached to building a civilized and commercial market, implementing trade promotion activities, and granting retail business licenses and certificates of eligibility for a number of businesses.
