Da Nang launches recovery plan for its tourism
The Da Nang government has launched a recovery plan for its tourism industry which recognises the significance of the industry as a major contributor to the city’s economy, in the normal amid COVID-19. The new plan will replace its earlier one dated April 13, 2021.
This plan sets out the actions that the tourism sector can adopt to drive its rapid recovery from the COVID-19 crisis based on COVID-19 updates across the country and around the world.
Da Nang is preparing itself for domestic and international visitors with the adoption of the 2-phase approach that allows the resumption of tourism services serving tourist arrivals in the city in addition to fostering inter-regional tourism.
In its efforts to realize its ambitious target to restore the industry in the last quarter of 2021 and in 2022, the municipal government has asked tourism accommodation establishments to put in place strict health and safe protocols in an attempt to help their guests feel secure and safe during their stay in the city. In addition, the focus will be on creating a tourism marketing plan for the city, and facilitating tourism businesses and their employees to enjoy benefit from the government’s support policies to drive their recovery from the crisis. The heed will be paid on developing new tourism products and services, as well as organizing events and programs to attract visitors to Da Nang while ensuring the effective control of COVID-19.
Tourist sites, holiday and short-stay accommodation establishments, along with tour operators are asked to create their own new products and services in a bid to improve visitor experience and encourage them to extend their stay in the city.
The municipal Department of Tourism has announced a list of tour operators and service providers that are eligible to join the city’s pilot scheme to welcome back international tourists.
Here is a list of authorized service providers:
- 5 accommodation establishments:
1. Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront Danang on Tran Hung Dao Street
2. Vinpearl Resort and Spa onTruong Sa Street
3. Risemount Hotel on Nguyen Van Thoai Street
4. Muong Thanh Luxury Da Nang Hotel on Vo Nguyen Giap Street
5. Vinpearl Luxury Resort on Truong Sa Street
- 3 tourist sites:
1. The Marble Mountains
2. The Museum of Cham Sculpture
3. Sun World Ba Na Hills
- There are 9 approved transportation service providers.
In addition, the Department of Tourism has already submitted a list of 7 tour operators in Da Nang that have registered for the city’s pilot program to welcome back international tourists to Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration and approval.
