A trade promotion conference on environmentally-friendly production, consumption models is taking place in Da Nang from December 21 – 23, notably highlighting a total of 30 booths owned by organisations and businesses nationwide.

A wide range of products using clean ingredients on display at the trade promotion event

The event is being jointly held by the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade.

On display at the 30 aforementioned booths are a wide range of green energy products and advanced technologies in the field of energy and environment such as energy-saving equipment and solar batteries, goods using recycled materials and clean ingredients, along with organic agricultural products.

The Mat Troi Viet High-Tech Cooperative, for example, displays a number of diversified spirulina products, including pure organic freeze-dried Spidana. In particular, freeze drying, a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, then removing the ice by sublimation, is now used at the Spidana farms to retain the best nutrition for algae, instead of relying on the mist spraying technology and open sun drying commonly used by other farming facilities nationwide.

Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that people can take as a dietary supplement. People consider spirulina a superfood due to its excellent nutritional content and health benefits. This species of algae has a high protein and vitamin content, which makes it an excellent dietary supplement for people on vegetarian or vegan diets. Research suggests that spirulina has antioxidant and inflammation-fighting properties, as well as the ability to help regulate the immune system.

Also at the trade promotion event, delegates joined active discussions about sustainable production and consumption development trends.

The conference also aims to prompt businesses to foster technological innovations for their competitiveness improvement, diversify their products, and build sustainable commercial and cooperative relationships.

Besides, through such a highly practical event, local residents can find it easier to access clean, highly reputable, good quality and environmentally friendly products.

The event is within the framework of the National Action Programme on sustainable production and consumption for the 2021 - 2030 period.

The action plan is designed with the aim to promote the effective and sustainable management, exploitation and use of natural resources, fuels and materials. It also encourages the development of environmentally-friendly, renewable, reusable and recyclable resources, fuels, materials and products.

The plan promotes models of sustainable production and consumption, thus creating green and stable jobs, advocating a sustainable lifestyle towards better life quality and a circular economy in the country.
