Delivering his speech at a ceremony on Tuesday to celebrate the 67th birthday of the Da Nang-based Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) under state-run Electricity of Viet Nam, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son highly lauded the unit for its important contributions to the socio-economic development of many provinces and cities in Central Viet Nam.

Vice Chairman Son hoped that, in the coming time, EVNCPC would join efforts with the city to implement urban reconstruction and embellishment works, and synchronously build and upgrade the transmission and distribution grid systems.

He took the opportunity to ask EVNCPC to continue to boost digital transformation, accelerate clean energy through Industry 4.0, and improve urban land use efficiency, thereby significantly contributing to helping Da Nang continue its ambitious journey of turning itself into an ecological, environmentally-friendly, modern and smart urban.

Over the past 67 years, EVNCPC has made many important contributions to the socio-economic development of many provinces and cities in Central Viet Nam.

EVNCPC is the first of 5 power corporations nationwide to officially deploy e-services for all of its member power companies. Also, it ranked fifth in ASEAN in the Smart Grid Index (SGI) in 2021.

In 2021, EVNCPC contributed nearly VND300 billion to the Da Nang budget. In 2020 and 2021, EVNCPC built 146 gratitude houses for needy families in 13 provinces and cities in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, as well as donated VND34 billion to Viet Nam’s COVID-19 Vaccine Fund and to support the country’s battle against COVID-19.

In Da Nang alone, over the past 5 years, EVNCPC has spent more than VND1,500 billion on implementing many key projects to promote the city's socio-economic progress, especially building smart grid systems in service for smart city building.

On this occasion, EVNCPC was honoured with the emulation flag from the Prime Minister for successfully fulfilling its assigned tasks.
