The signing of the tourism cooperation agreement was within the framework of a webinar to review the performance of tourism development cooperation activities in 2021 and launch a cooperation programme between 5 localities in 2022.
Under the deal, the five localities will conduct tourism promotion activities in South Korea and Japan, as well as make videos to advertise tourism products and events in their localities next year.
The Da Nang Department of Tourism also handed over the leadership reins of the affiliate group, and the group’s joint website at www.theessenceofvietnam.com.vn, to the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism.
Also, leaders of tourism sectors in the 5 localities proposed general mechanisms and policies to support localities to develop their own and specific products.
As reported at the webinar, in 2021, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh coordinated with the Viet Nam Tourism Association to encourage tourism businesses to develop preferential product packages included in the ‘Magic Heritage’ programme such as eco-tourism, and MICE tourism.
The Da Nang Department of Tourism organized a webinar on introducing tourism products in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh to Southeast Asian markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand), France and South Korea.
In addition, three central coastal localities of Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Nam made joint efforts to organise a tourism promotion programme in Can Tho Province. Moreover, Da Nang and Quang Nam together developed plans to organize closed tours to welcome international guests.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh said that despite being heavily affected by COVID-19 in 2021, the central localities still showed close links and effective coordination in promoting the development of the tourism sectors.
