Da Nang's tourism ensure flexible adaptation to COVID-19 with safe activities
Over the past time, in the face of complicated COVID-19 resurgence, the Da Nang tourism has deployed many flexible and innovative plans and solutions, step by step restoring tourism activities.

The compliment was made by municipal People’s Committee Chairman Tran Phuoc Son at a meeting on implementing the 2022 tourism industry plans organised by the municipal Department of Tourism.
2022 is themed ‘the year of safe and flexible adaptation, effective control of COVID-19 and socio-economic recovery and development’. Vice Chairman Son suggested that the Da Nang tourism industry focus on restoring tourism activities in ‘a proactive - adaptive – flexible manner’, with the strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention and control rules and business efficiency ensured.
Besides, it is high time to effectively tap the domestic tourist market, organise tourism stimulus programmes and implement a pilot scheme of welcoming and serving international tourists in the coming time.
It is also a need to focus on widely publicising Da Nang as an attractive destination, promoting the reopening of flight routes connecting the city with such international tourist markets as Japan, Republic of Korea (RoK), China and Thailand.
A heed should be paid to bringing a lift to M.I.C.E (Meetings-Incentives-Conferences-Exhibitions) golf and culinary tourism.
Other important tasks are to promote digital transformation, accelerate the progress of key tourism projects, create more attractive new tourism products and continue to support tourism businesses and their employees financially affected by the coronavirus wave.
The municipal administration vowed to accompany and facilitate the tourism industry to develop into a spearhead economic sector.
Da Nang tourism industry is expected to welcome back tourists in two scenarios.
In the first scenario, Da Nang aims to welcome 3.5 million tourists staying at local accommodation establishments, 3 times higher than the figure in 2021, with 180,000 international visitors, up 1.6 times, and more than 3.32 domestic ones, up 3 times.
In the remaining scenario, Da Nang eyes to tempt back 2.1 million tourists, an increase of 87.8% compared to 2021, with 100,000 international visitors and 2 million domestic ones, up 2 times.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, the Da Nang tourism industry has set out a number of specific tasks such as encouraging the dynamism, creativity, flexible adaptation of tourism businesses to put into operation many new products and services suitable to the psychology and tastes of diversified tourist in the new situation, developing human resources in service for tourism, supporting the promotion of reopening international routes, tempting international passengers back to the city and implementing digital transformation in tourism activities.
