During his reception for the Japanese guests, Vice Chairman Son highly appreciated the contributions made by the Japanese business community to the city's socio-economic development.

Japan is currently Da Nang’s largest investor with 218 projects worth a total registered investment capital of more than US%1 billion, accounting for over 25% of the total FDI capital channeled into the city. However, this figure is still quite modest as compared to whole Viet Nam with only 4.54% of the total Japanese-invested projects and 1.56% of the total investment from this East Asian country poured into Viet Nam.

Vice Chairman Son suggested that, in the near future, the Japanese Consulate General in Da Nang and the JCCID call for more Japanese businesses to seek investment opportunities in the central Vietnamese city, especially after Da Nang welcomes all international flights starting mid-March.

In particular, the 2022 Da Nang Investment Forum is scheduled to take place in September and the city will send an official invitation letter to the JCCID.

It is hoped that the JCCID and the Japanese Consulate General in Da Nang will act as ‘a bridge’ in helping Japanese businesses join the aforementioned forum.

JCCID Chairman Nakagawa Wataru said that since the COVID-19 pandemic was put under control in Da Nang, Japanese businesses have made great efforts to restore production and business.

He pledged to do his best to support Da Nang to promote the investment environment and connect with more Japanese businesses in the coming time.

Meanwhile, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Shinomishi Kiyoshi said that Japan and Da Nang have an important strategic partnership that will be strengthened in the future.

He also highly appreciated the city's great efforts to handle issues related to immigration, infrastructure and high-quality human resources.

Vice Chairman Son said that the Da Nang government will urge the Ministry of Public Security to create more favourable conditions for Japanese experts and workers to stay in Da Nang for work.
