Da Nang Port strives to implement dual goals for further development strides

In 2022, the Party Committee of Da Nang Port has speeded up the implementation of many measures to effectively realize the goal of “both effectively controlling COVID-19 and promoting production and business activities”, thus ensuring all conditions for its operation. Besides, logistics activities and goods circulation take place smoothly.

According to Mr. Tran Le Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee cum General Director of the Da Nang Port, in 2021, the port's production and business activities grew well, whilst cargo output, revenue and profit recorded a 2-digit growth.

In particular, container goods increased by 20% and revenue climbed by 18% from the same period in 2020.

However, in 2022, the situation will be more difficult as the pandemic is still complicated. Therefore, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Da Nang Port will direct units to develop infrastructure and drastically implement digital transformation and improve service quality in tandem with bringing the best possible service to customers and greatly reducing the time of container delivery procedures.

According to Mr. Vo Ha Phuong, Chief Representative of Wan Hai Lines Ltd. in Da Nang, the Da Nang Port is one of the pioneers in operating digital services. This creates favourable conditions for customers to save time and costs, especially in the complicated developments of COVID-19.

The Da Nang Port will attract more goods, new shipping lines, open more service routes.

From the beginning of the year, the company has accelerated the application of information technology (IT) in production management and in all stages of the delivery, loading and unloading process.

Deputy General Director of the Da Nang Port Duong Duc Xuan said that the Da Nang Port has taken measures to minimise the waiting time for customs clearance.

In the coming years, the company will continue to follow the customer-centric motto, while further developing the traditional market.

Besides, the company will implement drastic measures to prevent COVID-19 and create all favourable conditions for businesses to ensure the smooth circulation of goods.

In addition, the company will well implement social security programmes in the city as well as digital transformation in businesses, thereby successfully contributing to ensuring COVID-19 prevention and creating more breakthroughs in revenue and efficiency in its operations.
