Da Nang strives to tempt tourists back via useful digital platforms
Over recent times, the Da Nang tourism industry has moved towards engaging more in the application of digital platforms, building an online travel trading platform, developing smart tourism and enhancing convenient and easy-to-access features to introduce its highly-inviting tourism products to customers.

Pioneering in implementing visitors’ support platforms
In recent years, Da Nang, as a pioneer Vietnamese city in digital transformation, has continuously launched impressive digital tourism products to the general public, especially targeting tourists.
Specifically, since 2015, the Da Nang Tourism Portal at https://danangfantasticity.com, possessing numerous useful features and languages has become the official channel for locals as well as tourists to search for tourism information.
In 2016, Da Nang was also the first city in Viet Nam to launch an official travel app Danang FantastiCity so that visitors can self-schedule, develop travel plans as well as share trip experiences.
In 2017, Da Nang also pioneered the implementation of the Chatbox, a platform supporting and interacting automatically with visitors.
In addition, the tourism industry has built a series of online media ecosystems on some platforms such as Danangfantacity, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok.
In 2020, Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion has successfully piloted the Scan 3D at the Museum of Cham Sculpture, which so far has attracted nearly 15,000 views.
In October 2021, the VR360 virtual tourism system ‘One touch to Da Nang’ was announced and so far has attracted more than 11,000 visits and experiences after just more than 3 months of being put into use.
At the beginning of 2022, the Da Nang tourism industry cooperated with Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group to launch a tourism e-commerce platform and an online travel Expo at local. travelbook.vn/danang, opening a new direction for tourism on digital platforms.
Cooperating in digital transformation to bring convenience to customers
In the early days of 2022, the Da Nang tourism industry signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation in tourism activities with Klook Travel Vietnam Co., Ltd. to boost tourism promotion in a bid to attract more tourists to Da Nang in the time to come.
Having a treasure trove of diverse services, it is easy for users to discover and book entrance tickets to famous attractions, tours, transportation, cuisine, hotels and unique local experiences at the Klook website and on its app.
The bilateral cooperation aims to promote groups of self-sufficient tourists who want explore and experience beauty spots in Da Nang as well as help boost digital transformation so as to make it easier for tourism businesses to lure more domestic and foreign tourists.
Under the joint agreement, the two sides focus on implementing a number of key contents in the 2022 - 2023 period such as making cooperation to attract tourist arrivals in Da Nang with joint campaigns in Viet Nam and major markets around the world, and promoting digital communications through Facebook, Instagram and Website & App of Klook Vietnam for tourism promotion activities in Da Nang.
Also, the both side accompany travel agencies in Da Nang on the route of digitisation and access to a suite of technology solutions supported by Klook. This technology can be used as a tool to find new target customers and improve online advertising capabilities, jointly research to create quarterly or seasonal campaigns to stimulate tourism demand and accompany in programmes to introduce Da Nang tourism to both domestic and foreign tourists.
After a long time being affected by the complicated COVID-19 pandemic, businesses also actively changed to return to the market. As shared by Mr Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Duy Nhat Dong DuongTourism Company, the company will have many changes in business planning, market approach, human resource training, and product development. The business also hatches plans to build an online travel guide website and will continue to train employees on job skills and offer products online.
According to Mr Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, digital transformation and application of platforms in tourism activities are essential, contributing to simplifying procedures. The Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion has also signed cooperation agreements with a host of units on digital transformation.
In the future, the tourism industry will gradually concretize digital transformation products, apply information technology in connecting with service providers in tandem with creating a tourism space housing many utilities to serve visitors in a better manner.
