Most recently, fashion shops across Da Nang, especially those located along Le Duan, one of the city’s busiest downtown specialised fashion streets, have witnessed a growing number of shoppers who want to make the purchase of warm clothes, gloves, scarves, socks and other items.

In a bid to meet the needs of customers, local fashion store owners have imported more cold-resistant products offered at different prices so that consumers have more choices.

At some stores selling imported winter fashion products, despite the high price, there were still many shoppers.

At some stalls at the Hoa An Market based in Cam Le District items, products such as warm clothes, children's socks, thermal jackets, slippers, blankets, pillows and mattresses are now consumed more than usual.

Many traders specialising in selling warm clothes, socks and scarves at the Con and Bac My An markets have been delighted at a fact that a volume of sales recorded over recent cold days have significantly increased as compared to pre-Tet.

In a similar vein, many stores trading in mattresses, duvet covers, sheets and pillows have seen a hike in number of shoppers. Attractive promotion schemes, especially 10 - 30% discounts, have stirred up a rise in the purchasing power for these items.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, from now till February 27, Da Nang is predicted to continue to brace for showers and cold weather with the lows of 18-21 degrees Celsius.

It is expected to warm up in the subsequent days.
