In the urban development planning map of Da Nang, its central area, mainly Hai Chau District and a part of Thanh Khe District, has been developed in recent years with the arrival of many projects both on embellishing and expanding works of great historical significance and forming new highlights.

At the beginning of 2022, Da Nang put into use the expanded APEC Statue Park Park and will soon put into operation the under-construction traffic infrastructure project at the western end of Tran Thi Ly Bridge.

Not only these projects create a link between tourist attractions located along the western bank of the romantic Han River, but they also open up a vibrant, peaceful, cool and beautiful living space.

In the past few days of the Lunar New Year, thousands of domestic and foreign tourists have come to this park for check-in and relaxation activities.

The coming time is expected to see the rebuilt of the Museum of Da Nang and the construction of the expected Da Nang Square in front of the existing municipal Administrative Centre building.

These new projects will quickly turn Bach Dang, one of the largest streets in Da Nang, into a place to enjoy diverse and colorful tourism products, and especially, interweaving images of an ancient and modern Da Nang.

The museum’s new location covers a total area of 8,686m2, consisting facilities at 42 Bach Dang and 31 Tran Phu.

The site borders Quang Trung to the north, the General Science Library to the south, Tran Phu to the west and Bach Dang street to the east.

Once the renovation is completed, the new museum is expected to highlight both cultural and historical values, and especially, modern architectural features showing off the city’s images as a big economic hub in the central region.

The formation of a chain of tourist projects in the central area of Da Nang quickly creates a close connection with the coastal area of Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son in the eastern part and the districts of Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu in the western park.

Thanks to this, visitors will be given multiple choices for travel when coming to Da Nang: pay a visit to the Ba Na and Nui Than Tai tourist areas to enjoy the majestic mountain scenery, take a trip to the Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son coast to access beautiful beaches, stroll along the western bank of the romantic Han River for relaxation, and visit the Han and Con markets for shopping, admire museums and such historical sites as Dien Hai Citadel, Hai Chau Village Communal House and Phuoc Ninh Martyrs’ Cemetery so as to contemplate the past and present of Da Nang.

Therefore, the city’s downtown area must be restored and developed, showing off bustling and bustling ambiance of some major streets, and peaceful spaces for relaxation.

It is a need to upgrade some busy downtown streets such as Ong Ich Khiem, Phan Chau Trinh, Hoang Dieu, Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To.

Also, the planting of more urban trees and flowers in the downtown area should be given a special heed because this is an indispensable strength to impress visitors.

As for the flower street on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet), the renowned Bach Dang flower street shall maintain its mission as ‘a really interesting spiritual food’ for both local dwellers and tourists.

With a regard with the year-round fixed flower routes, it is a good idea to develop all-year -round flower beds along the city’s most visited routes. Why don’t turn the median strips of such bridges as Dragon and Tran Thi Ly into beautiful flower beds?

Also, issues related to parking and sidewalk order should be taken into account. The existing car parking should not be allowed on Bach Dang Street to open up a walking space along the western bank of the Han River.

Last, but not the least, pavement order must be ensured along major downtown streets, especially those connecting with Bach Dang Street such as Nguyen Van Linh, Le Hong Phong, Thai Phien, Tran Quoc Toan and Hung Vuong.
