During the inspection visit, Secretary Quang praised the project’s managers and contractors for speeding up the progress, basically completing the surface on the whole project scope and ensuring smooth traffic movement through the construction site during the Lunar New Year break. The project meets the high requirements in terms of technical and artistic quality.
The city’s Party chief also highly appreciated the new proposals, especially creating the landscapes of the roundabouts of the ground level at the September 2 - Duy Tan intersection.
The city leader also directed the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to make the project’s landscape as its highlight.
In addition, it should review the whole project to arrange the landscape in harmony with the development of a management and protection plan to ensure social security and traffic safety.
He also noted that it is a need to construct a parking lot combined with a park at the project. The design must calculate the number of vehicles parked by road users of the Bach Dang tourist route extending to the Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge.
According to the report of the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction items of the project have been basically completed so far.
Particularly, the selection of an eligible contractor of green landscape construction and decorative lighting installation is underway and work is expected to start on March.
Covering an area of 131,521m2 in the wards of Hoa Cuong Bac and Hoa Thuan Dong, Hai Chau District, the 3-leve traffic re-arrangement project borders Binh Minh 6 Street to the north, 29 March to the south, the Han River to the east, and military agencies and residential areas to the west.
The lowest level is a 4-lane road tunnel taking Duy Tan under the busy junctions with Le Dinh Tham and the western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge. The upper level on ground is a roundabout, whilst the highest level is a 14m-wide 4-lane steel overpass over 2 September Street. There are also two 6m-wide frontage roads at the both sides of the overpass.
