Cargo through Da Nang Port in Jan.-Feb. up over the same period last year

As reported by the Da Nang Port Authority, over the first two months of 2022, the volume of goods through Da Nang seaports reached more than 1.57 million tonnes (excluding transit goods that are not handled at the port), an increase of 1.62% over the same period in 2021.

The Da Nang Port serves as an important gateway for the logistics service supply chains to the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions.

Of this, exports climbed by more than 50.5% to 590,000 tonnes, whilst imports went up by over 14.6% to over 423,000 tonnes, and domestic goods were more than 557,700 tonnes, down nearly 29% over the same period in 2021.

Specifically, in February, 2022, the volume of goods through the Da Nang seaport reached 690,842 tonnes (excluding transit goods that were not loaded and unloaded), an increase of about 18% from the same period in 2021.

In detail, exports reached more than 285,500 tonnes, up nearly 71%, whilst imports were more than 165,500 tonnes, up nearly 21% and domestic goods stood at more than 207,000 tonnes, down more than 18% compared to the same period in 2021.

Particularly, container goods handled through the Da Nang seaport in February 2022 reached 39,871 Teus, an increase of more than 15% from the year-ago period, of which exports reached over 14,000 Teus, up nearly 46%, imported goods hit nearly 20,000 Teus, up over 61% and domestic goods were more than 5,800 Teus, down more than 53.5%.

Container cargo through the Da Nang seaport in the first two months of 2022 reached 84,208 Teus, up 6.75% ; exported goods with over 31,000 Teus, up more than 35.7%; imported goods with nearly 37,000 Teus, up over 31.3% and domestic goods with more than 16,300 Teus, down over 41.5% from year-ago period.
