Da Nang approves restoration of Marble Mountains special national scenic spot

The Da Nang People’s Council has just given the go-ahead to a project of preserving and restoring the Marble Mountains special national relic site.

The restoration of this relic site to preserve and promote its value in harmony with socio-economic development and tourism services and turn it into a cultural space and place for organising festivals in combination with a unique entertainment place an important spot on the renowned tourism journey ‘Central Heritage Route’.

This is the legal basis for the management, protection, appraisal, approval and implementation of projects to promote the value of relics, creating favourable conditions for mechanisms to attract new economic sectors for the sake of the sustainable development of this scenic spot.

The total planning area of the Marble Mountains special national relic site is 104.9ha, with the current status of a total of more than 1,000 households living in 14 residential groups in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh District.

The plan also includes the Ghenh Mount and the eastern part of Am Hoa Son cave.

The project will focuse on preserving all outstanding values of the scenic area, minimising construction on mount, restoring some mounts whose landscape have been affected by previous quarrying activities, protecting the status quo of the entire space within the boundary of the protected relic areas.

Currently, the Da Nang government will submit a set of documents for the project to submit to the Prime Minister for approval in accordance with the law.
