Da Nang businesses ensure flexible adaptation to COVID-19 for sake of smooth operations

Given a recent hike in the number of workers infected with COVID-19, many Da Nang-based businesses are, for the time being, turning proactive and flexible in regulating production and business plans as well as reasonably arranging labour resources in great effort to ensure order fulfillment progress.

No new COVID-19 hotspots reported in IPs

Since the Tet break, many businesses operating in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Parks and industrial zones have regularly record new infections and their close contacts that shall be object to home-based quarantine.

At the M Pack Joint Stock Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP), production has still been stable even though there are 7 infections and dozens of close COVID contacts.

The company has synchronously performed weekly COVID-19 testing for its staff members in a bid to timely detect new infections.

Focus has been on separate workers’ seats in production workshops and allowing the office team’s staffers to work from home, mapping out the schedules of dining shifts and installing partitions between dining tables in a bid to maximize workers’ protection against coronavirus.

“We have set up a temporary isolation room for new infections detected at work and ensured timely contact with a pre-contracted medical facility for handling. Out company is always  proactive and flexible in handling unexpected COVID-19 cases to ensure the health and safety of employees as well as maintain production activities as well. At the same time, there is a subsidy of 50% of the day's salary for employees who are close contacts during their home-based quarantine", said Ms. Pham Thi Hoa Binh, Director of the M Pack Joint Stock Company.

Strengthening supportive moves for businesses and their employees

In the face of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones (DHPIZA) has closely coordinated with functional sectors to deploy a software system to serve the prevention, control and assessment of the risk of COVID-19 infection online on the management system at  https://danang.atalink.com.

At the same time, mobile medical stations have, since the end of January, operated in the Son Tra District-based Da Nang IP and Lien Chieu IP that serve as connection points for COVID-19 testing and providing medical care for coronavirus-stricken employees according to the needs of businesses.

Till date, over 90% of the employees working in IPs citywide have been vaccinated with the 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, following the direction of the municipal People's Committee on the establishment of vaccination points in IPs, the DHPIZA has coordinated with the Son Tra District Medical Center and the Massda Land Co., Ltd to conduct surveys and select a location at the project site developed by the Da Nang branch of the FPT Software Company Limited on Street 1 in the Da Nang IP, also known as An Don IP, as the vaccination site for employees working in Son Tra District-based IPs.
