Da Nang CPI in February rises by 0.88%
The latest figures released from the Da Nang General Statistics Office show that Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in February increased by 0.88 as compared to the previous month, down by 0.98% over January 2021.
On average, in the first 2 months of the year, CPI went down by 0.23% as compared to the average of the same period in 2021.
Seven out of the 11 main groups of goods and services recorded an increase in CPI, namely, traffic up by 2.54%, food and catering services1.8%, beverages and tobacco 1.41%, other goods and services 0.2%, housing, electricity and water, fuel supplies and construction materials 0.11%, household appliances 0.04%, culture, entertainment and tourism 0.04%.
There were two groups of goods that decreased in CPI as compared to the previous month, namely post and telecommunications down by 0.9% and garment, hat and footwear group 0.08%.
The two remaining groups with stable CPI are drugs and medical services, and education.
As for some of the reasons affecting the CPI in February, gasoline prices has experienced the 5th consecutive increase, directly affecting the prices of transportation services and other commodity groups.
In February, the CPI of raw materials such as petrol, lubricants and diesel climbed by 5.51% and kerosene went up 8.39%.
Besides, there were some factors that restrain CPI's fluctuations such as the price of rental housing decreased by 0.15% and that of some garments and ornamental plants was on a downward trend.
