Da Nang exports jump 43.2% in first two months of 2022
Data published by the Da Nang Statistics Bureau shows that many economic indicators in the first two months of 2022 looked better than the same period last year with economic indices turning positive.
Between January and February 2022, output in the manufacturing industry rose by 1.2% from the same period a year ago. The largest increases were in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment industry with a 36.72% increase, and the automotive engine and parts manufacturing industry with a 36.61% jump.
During the two-month period, the revenue of postal and courier activities in Da Nang amounted to an estimated VND 174.4 billion, up 10.2% compared with the same period last year. The strong growth witnessed in imports and exports from Da Nang.
Total value of Da Nang exports and imports of goods and services hit an estimated USD 525.6 million, an increase of 23.6% compared with the same period a year earlier. Of which, exports were worth around USD 322.2 million, up 43.2%, and imports were worth close to USD 203.5 million, up 1.6%.
Da Nang’s industrial production showed signs of recovery but the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on trading and services sector with total value of retail sales of consumer goods and services reaching an estimated VND 11,828.6 billion which is equal to 74.5% of the corresponding period in 2021.
In the first two months of the 2022, Da Nang issued business registration certificates to 426 businesses, branches and representative offices with total registered capital of VND 2,246 billion, a 10% decrease in the number of new businesses and a 52.7% decline in registered capital when compared with the same period in 2021.
