More than VND2,000 billion for 5 projects

The first project is the building of a coastal road connecting the soon-to-be-built Lien Chieu Port with National Highway 1A (a bypass route to south of the Hai Van Tunnel).

As proposed, the Da Nang Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board is the project’s investor and operator.

The would-be route has a length of 2.59km, a width of 30m wide and 6 lanes, covering a 23.5ha of land.

The project is expected to cost VND1,203 billion, about VND700 billion will be from the municipal budget and the rest will be funded by the national budget.

The project is slated to be implemented over the 2022-2025 period.

The second one is the building of the Quang Da Bridge linking its Hoa Vang District with Quang Ninh Province’s Dien Ban Town.

The new bridge will start at the intersection of National Highway 14B which runs through Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District and it will end at the area that belongs to Quang Nam Province.

The new bridge and its approaches have a total length of 1,407km, including a distance of 1,154km running through Da Nang.

Particularly, the new 203m long Quang Da Bridge covers the 106m long belonging to Da Nang and the 97m long held by Quang Nam Province.

Developed by the Management Board of Construction and Investment Projects for Agriculture and Rural Development Works, the project is scheduled to be implemented in the 2022-2026 period, and it is funded by the city’s budget.

The third one is the technical infrastructure, site clearance, and resettlement in service for the Hoa Phuoc wholesale market at a cost of VND214 billion in funding from the municipal budget.

Of this figure, VND172 billion will be spent on the site clearance and compensation work, nearly VND33 billion will be poured into the market infrastructure development, and the remainder will be used for management and contingency work.

Developed and managed by the Da Nang Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects, the project will be carried out during the 2022-2023 period.

Being one of the city's key and dynamic projects, once fully operational, the market will play an vital role in ensuring the stable supply of agricultural products for the city, and Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions as a whole, as well as will act as a transshipment point of agricultural products to Northern and Southern Viet Nam.

The 30.9ha market will feature a 18,760m2 parking area for about 30 containers and 50 large trucks. In addition, more than 10,498m2 will be earmarked for the construction of warehouses and product display booths, the development of logistics services, and more.

The fourth one is an emergency anti-erosion embankment at key locations of riverside routes in the city, with a total investment of VND250 billion from the national budget.

The last one is Phase 1 of the Hoa Phong Commune Administrative Centre at a cost of VND124 billion funded by the municipal budget.

Promoting socio-economic development

Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee Nguyen Dang Huy said that the shared infrastructure development project at the Lien Chieu Port has been approved by the Prime Minister. Therefore, the research and investment in the route connecting the Lien Chieu Port to the main traffic routes of the city, the region and the country such as national highways and bypasses is really necessary to ensure traffic flow and reduce the potential risk of traffic accidents when used together with inner city roads.

This is a very important route creating motivation as well as promoting investment flows into the Lien Chieu Port, and the urban area as whole, including Lien Chieu District.

Likewise, according to the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang, the above-mentioned would-be route is expected to facilitate investors to participate in the fields of port operation and post-port logistics. Thus, in order to ensure port operations, avoid conflicts between urban traffic, industry, seaport services, it is absolutely necessary to build a such a route.

Meanwhile, the Quang Da Bridge and its approach roads, when completed, will connect with the northern ring road of Quang Nam Province, connecting traffic between Hoa Vang District and Dien Ban Town (Quang Nam Province) via National Highway 14B, southern ring road of Da Nang, DT 609 Quang Nam road and National highway 1A.

The project is expected to complete the regional transport network, strengthen cooperation, and promote socio-economic development of the two localities.

In addition, the remaining important projects, once fully operational, will make an important contribution to leveraging the city's socio-economic progress.
