Petrol and diesel prices hit record high

Motorbike and car drivers in Da Nang are facing even greater bills as petrol and diesel prices have reached a new record high.

Both petrol and diesel were the most expensive they’ve ever been at 3:00pm on Tuesday, March 1.

Fuel prices have hit a new record high at the pump across the country since March 1 after the bio-fuel E5 RON92 petrol has jumped by VND 540 a litre and RON 95 petrol has gone up by VND 550 a litre. The price of petrol at the pump has risen with RON 92 at VND 26,070 per litre and RON 95 at VND 26,830 per litre.

Meanwhile, the new price of diesel has reached VND 21,310 per litre after an increase of VND 510 per litre.

Kerosene oil now sells for VND 19,970 per litre after an increase of VND 470 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices across Viet Nam have again been increased on Tuesday - the sixth time in a row, sending fuel prices to their highest ever levels in the history. Earlier on February 21, the price of gasoline nationwide increased with RON 92 petrol at VND 25,530 VND a litre and RON 95 petrol at VND 26,280 VND a litre while diesel at VND 20,800 a litre, and kerosene at VND 19,500 a litre.
