Da Nang sees positive signs of economic recovery
For the ongoing 4-day break for the National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1) this year, Da Nang is slated to welcome 600 domestic and international flights and thousands of other transports bringing a huge number of tourists to the city
About 1,000 tourism businesses have reopened and 600 accommodation establishments with a capacity of 2,700 rooms are ready to welcome visitors.
Besides, service establishments, supermarkets and shops have tripled their stock of goods to serve consumer demand on this occasion. At the same time, dozens of attractive cultural, artistic and entertainment events are waiting for residents and visitors. These are optimistic signals that Da Nang has gradually recovered strongly after the pandemic.
Currently, the city's tourism has begun to be vibrant again with the 2022 tourism stimulus program themed "Enjoy Da Nang" covering numerous preferential and diverse product packages for customers.
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Hung Kings on March 10 of the lunar calendar, the number of visitors to tourist attractions in Da Nang reached about 55,400.
Therefore, tourist destinations have so far developed many new and attractive services during the holidays of April 30 and May 1 as well as contributing to the complete recovery of the local tourism industry.
Da Nang aims to be the first locality to restore tourism in response to the policy of "resuming tourism activities in the context of flexibly, safely adapting and effectively controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, and associated with each step of socio-economic recovery” of the Government from the beginning of 2022
The vitality of Da Nang has gradually recovered with positive signals of economic growth in the first quarter of 2022. Investment attraction continued to have positive changes. In addition, a number of key projects creating the impetus for the city's socio-economic development have been completed and put into operation.
In particular, Da Nang has been ranked fourth on the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2021, leading the Central Coast region. This is the result of the whole city's constant efforts in implementing solutions to improve PCI, focusing on overcoming component indicators such as market entry, land access, transparency, cost, time, labour training, fair competition, legal institutions and security, and well-preparing conditions to be ready to welcome the wave of investment diversion after the serious impact of COVID-19.
These days, a large number of tourists have begun to flock to Da Nang, a place that has built and maintained the "safe - attractive - hospitable" destination brand.
The strongly recovering of the city’s vitality proves that the 2022 theme of "Year of safe and flexible adaptation, effective disease control and socio-economic recovery and development" is the right policy of the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Da Nang.
In the first four months of 2022, the initial achievements have shown the consensus, and high determination of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Da Nang.
Moreover, the cooperation and companionship of businesses will help Da Nang play its spirit of dynamism, creativity, greater efforts and determination, as well as overcome difficulties and seize post-COVID-19 opportunities to fulfil the socio-economic targets of 2022.
