Da Nang sets a goal of speeding ​​up the progress of key projects in second quarter

In the first quarter of 2022, Da Nang's economy recorded positive changes with the value of gross domestic product (GRDP) estimated to increase by 0.89% over the same period last year.

In the next quarter, local government departments and agencies, localities, and project management boards continue to accelerate the progress of key and motivational projects in the city.

Chief of Office of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment Tran Van Hoang said, in the first quarter of this year, the city witnessed the official inauguration of the APEC Sculpture Garden and the traffic infrastructure at western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge, and the opening of the Da Nang-Ly Son inland waterway tourism route.

As planned, in the second quarter of the year, the city is urgently completing its planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. In addition, top priority will be given to deploying projects on turning Da Nang into a regional-scale financial center, establishing a non-tariff zone, and supporting enterprises to restore production and business and to remove difficulties in investment attraction mechanisms and policies.

Also, the city plans to host the Investment Forum 2022, maintain the schedule of budget collection and disbursement of public investment plans, expedite the progress of key projects, and ensure social welfare.

According to Deputy Director in charge of the municipal Department of Transport Bui Hong Trung, the adjustments to the city’s master plan for Da Nang International Airport during the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, will be completed in the second quarter.

Moreover, the city’s transportation sector will pay special attention to removing obstacles and ensuring the progress and quality of such key traffic works as the upgrading of the DT 601 road, and the ring-road system in the west connecting National Highway No 14B and the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Especially, efforts will be made to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to complete investment preparation procedures to implement the upgrading of the National Highway 14B section running through Da Nang.

Most notably, the second quarter of 2022 is also the time to accelerate the disbursement of the city’s public investment capital plan during the year and perform well the urban management and environmental protection.

Accordingly, the disbursement rate of public investment capital will reach 15% of the plan by April 30 (equivalent to VND1,180 billion), and 35% by late June (equivalent to VND2,760 billion).

Also at the same time, the focus will be on disbursing for settlement works, speeding up the compensation and site clearance work, and urging new projects to expeditiously complete procedures, start construction and disburse capital plans as soon as possible.

In recent days, busy working atmosphere has been recorded at the construction site of the upgrade of the DT 601 road. Construction workers have been racing against time to complete some construction items.

Especially, some items of water environment improvement projects east of Son Tra District and in Ngu Hanh Son District are on track to be completed.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment Tran Thi Thanh Tam informed that, in the 2nd quarter of 2022, the city would continue to focus on accelerating the progress of key projects in order to promote the stimulating role of public investment in economic growth and restoration.

Included are the Lien Chieu Port, the upgrade of the National Highway 14B section running through Da Nang, the upgrade and expansion of Da Nang's Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port at the 2nd stage, the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, the North West Axis No.1 route, traffic infrastructure improvement, Software Park No. 2, the dredging of the Co Co River, the upgrade of the DT 601 road, the riverside Tuyen Son-Tuy Loan route, the ring-road system in the west connecting National Highway No 14B and the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the Western Ring Road No.2, the compensation and clearance work under Hoa Nhon Industrial Cluster project, a water environment improvement project east of Son Tra District, the installation of sewage collection pipelines along coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, the upgrade and expansion of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, and the upgrade of 42 Bach Dang facility into Museum of Da Nang.

Additionally, heed will be paid to completing the city’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, and submit it to the Ministry of Investment and Planning for appraisal in April.

The city will coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to soon complete the investment procedures for the upgrade and expansion of Da Nang's Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port at the 2nd stage.

Importance will be attached to removing difficulties and obstacles in procedures to disburse VND500 billion of the central budget for the Lien Chieu Port project and ensure that the construction of the project will begin on the National Day, September 2, 2022.

It is expected that in the second quarter of 2022, seven People’s Council-adopted subdivision planning tasks will be approved by the municipal government. They are the Hoa Xuan sports complex, hi-tech application agricultural zone, the western ecological zone, the area of ​​Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, the Khe Ram ecological zone west of the city, the Song Bac area, an ecological zone at the top and bottom of the Ba Na mountain, and an ecological zone along the national highway 14G.

Also, efforts will be made to approve five other subdivision planning tasks: along the Han River and eastern bank of the river, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang Bayside, Hoa Vang district town, and an ecological zone east of the city.
