Da Nang takes action to ensure stable power supply over forthcoming public holidays
The Da Nang-based Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) under state-run Electricity of Viet Nam announced on Thursday that it had developed plans to meet the growing demand for electricity of locals over the forthcoming public holidays for the Hung Kings' death anniversary (10th day of the 3rd lunar month), the Reunification Day (April 30) and Labour Day (May 1).
Specifically, EVNCPC has asked its subordinate units in the provinces and cities in Central Viet Nam to actively work with local authorities to grasp the time and location of to-be-held festivals and arrange a reasonable power supply method in a bid to ensure safe operation of the power grids in normal conditions and flexibly switch in the event of a breakdown.
They have been required to ensure stable power supply at the locations where political and cultural activities will be held, arrange backup diesel generators, and re-establishing shifts at unmanned 110kV substations operated at places where major political and cultural activities to take place.
Focus will be on increasing inspections to timely detect and handle defects of source equipment, as well as fully preparing for supplies, backup equipment, fuel, communication systems and vehicles in readiness for the timely handling of damage and incidents.
Notably, the corporation has assured that there will be no power cuts in Da Nang on April 10 (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month), April 30 and May 1, except for cases under which power must be cut off for troubleshooting or as required.
